FROM DONNA REID: The Beta Club at Alexander Central High School is collecting the product code from Coke can drink boxes as a fund raiser/service project. If you have some, or if you think about saving them, it would be very much appreciated. A little holder will be put in the hallway for collection.
The UMW would like to remind everyone that they just reordered on the HAPPY HOME flavorings and still have RADA knives for sale. See Tammy Beard if interested in purchasing either of these items.
BETHLEHEM DAY will be held Saturday, September 21st 10:00am-4:00pm at Mt. Bethel. Mt. Bethel plans to use this festival atmosphere to reach out to our community. We will have available a rest station with diaper changing & baby feeding areas and will also be giving out cold water. Things that we need are: Changing tables (diapers, wipes, etc) Rocking Chairs, Coolers full of bottled water, Church & CDC Brochures, Volunteers-To set up, staff the area, and take down afterward, small items from the church and candy to give out. Donna also NEEDS YOUR HELP!!! She is looking for some folks that want to get involved. Last year here were over 75 vendors and this year is tracking to be even more! We need people to help set up on Friday night, direct vendors to their location Saturday morning, set up areas Saturday morning, and then clean up. None of these things really take that long--just need the hands to help get it done. It's a great opportunity for some of our high school clubs, which she will be involving as well. Please give some thought and let her know if you would like to volunteer.
The Reading Patners Program (a project of the Alexander County Missional Network) is actively seeking volunteers for elementary schools. They are planning to begin their program October 7th-9th and there will be simple and easy lesson plans to follow, as well as training provided. Communities in Schools provides all background checks for their volunteers in order to ensure student safety. If interested please let Pastor Dale know. The following is the schedule for 2019-2020 school year:
Hiddenite - Monday's 11:00-11:30am
Ellendale - Tuesday's 8:30-9:00am
Taylorsville - Tuesday's 10:45-11:15am
Wittenburg - Tuesday's 12;30-1:00pm
Stony Point - Wednesday's 8:30-9:00am
We will continue to accept Building Fund Principal only donations that will be sent in on a monthly basis. Please earmark and make sure these are over and above your tithes. Thanks!
For any request that is to be added to the Prayer List, please put on the pew attendance pads and please specify which category. The Payer List will be purged at the end of every month. Please fill out a new request for a name to be put back on the list. This way the list can be kept more up to date.
Mt. Pisgah Food Pantry can always use personal hygiene/cleaning items such as soaps, washing detergents, toilet tissue, toothpaste. Put any donated items in the box outside the sanctuary and Judy Jones will make sure they get taken to Mt. Pisgah. Thanks for your support!
There is a sign-up sheet for use of the van outside the pastor's office. This will make the van more accessible for everyone's use. Also the new policy is to fill up the gas tank when you are finished and it will be full for the next group's use.
